CHARLOTTE, N.C. — One person was killed Sunday afternoon following a motorcycle crash on Interstate 485 Inner Loop in north Charlotte, according to officials.
Emergency medical personnel responded to the scene near Mile Marker 27 around 4:45 p.m. Upon arrival, first responders pronounced one individual dead at the scene. No additional information about the victim has been released.
The crash prompted a temporary closure of I-485 Inner Loop near Exit 26 at Robert Helms Road as authorities investigated and crews worked to clear the roadway. The North Carolina Department of Transportation later confirmed that the affected lanes have since reopened.
Officials have not released details on what caused the crash, and the incident remains under investigation. Motorists traveling through the area experienced delays during the closure, but traffic has since returned to normal flow.
